My perfect weekend: Rachel Arieff

Radical and acid, the postmodern cabaret artist [and creator of Anti-Karaoke] prefers it tranquil.

"Tapas at Bardemcilla, a nice wine at home... and forget about discotheques."

On Saturdays, dinner or a movie?

I prefer a real dinner, with real food. I don't like the trendy "modern" restaurants where you pay 50 bucks to have a frustrated supermodel throw a plate at you containing four peas.

What don't you like about going out at night?

The noise. I think people do drugs so they can tolerate the shitty music at the discotheques. I'd rather stay at home and get drunk quietly.

The best tapas?

At Bardemcilla. Heavy, greasy food that sticks in your ass for years.

On the weekend, you'll never go to...

A discotheque. I like going to weird places, like talking to the old ladies at the bus stop. I really belong in the last century -- and by that I mean the 19th century.

And to wait for the sun go up?

I never do that, so I'll just say Vips [laughter].
