About Me
From the U.S. to Barcelona
I began my career as a stand-up comic... in the 1990s. Yes, really.
Living in Austin, New York and Los Angeles, I was fortunate enough to perform alongside comics such as Dave Chappelle, Zach Galafianakis, Louis C.K., Duncan Trussell and Sarah Silverman, among many other talented artists.
When I moved to Barcelona 2004 I started to perform in Spanish, doing stand-up comedy and cabaret shows throughout Spain. The best known were Cómo ser feliz todo el tiempo ("How to Be Happy All the Time"), Planeta Catalunya, and Coñólogos. The last full-length show I did was Sueños americanos (American Dreams), a "dramedy" monologue, in Barcelona.
I have done standup in Spanish on Paramount Comedy as well as TV in the U.S., and had small roles in a few films.
I am also the creator and host of Anti-Karaoke, the karaoke rock show famous throughout Spain and other parts of Europe, still going strong in Barcelona (and occasionally in Madrid).
I speak Spanish, English, and Catalan. I am currently working on 3 different full-length comedy shows, one in each language. For me, each language inspires different themes and has its own audience.
BTW, the Catalan show is now ready! It's called CATALUNYA TRIOMFANT... of course! I count on having the Spanish show ready soon.
During the pandemic, when all the theaters closed and I couldn't perform, I became an online English teacher. Teaching English to kids and adults from all over the world was one of the most interesting and rewarding experiences I have ever had. I still do it because I love connecting with people from all different cultures, helping them and learning about their world.
I practice Goenka Vipassana meditation 2 hours every day. I mention it here because it's greatly changed my life for the better. I believe that if more people did this, the world would be a much more peaceful, functional, and certainly happier place. I recommend it for nearly everyone.
